What to write in a Condolence Card

Writing a condolence card can be challenging, but is a meaningful way to express your sympathy and support someone who is grieving.

A simple comforting message to the family to let them know they are in your thoughts with a fond memory of the deceased can mean so much.

If you knew the person, a shared memory showing their personality, character or achievements can help the bereaved feel closer to their loved one and remember them in a postive way.

Write in the first person can make your message more personal and sincere.

Sign with your firs name and last name, unless you are close. You can also add your relationship, such as “your neighbour” or “your coworker”.

Acknowledgement is always key.
