Am I Normal To Be Feeling Relief, Anger, or dare I say Happiness in Grief?
There are so many emotions no one prepares you for in grief.
Grief is not only sadness.
Sometimes it’s relief, especially after long suffering.
Sometimes it’s anger.
Sometimes, unexpectedly, it’s a moment of happiness.
And almost always, those feelings are followed by guilt.
If you’ve experienced this, you may wonder what it means about you.
It doesn’t mean anything is wrong.
It means you are human.
We are wired to find moments of lightness, even in pain. These moments don’t erase love. They exist alongside it.
The difficulty is not the feeling itself; it's the self-judgment that follows. The real healing begins when you can allow the feelings to move through and meet them with compassion in whatever way works best for you.
